West Shore Family Dentistry Services
Services they offer;
Restorative care
Fillings are the generic term. They are highly cautious whenever they see dental cavities and will only drill those cavities that extend into the second layer of tooth structure known as dentin. They will fill those cavities with the most recent dental bonding and composite material to eliminate sensitivity and wear. The long-term prognosis and success rate of these fillings will be optimal.
Endodontics
Root canals are another term. They perform root canal procedures on all teeth, including molars. With rotary endodontics, use cutting-edge techniques to thoroughly clean and shape the tooth’s canals. These teeth are then filled with gutta-percha which is one of the best root canals validated on the market. It has been successful for them to perform root canals, and they expect it to be successful for a long time to come. If they think they cannot provide that level of long-term success, they will refer you to a specialist, an endodontist.
Teeth Whitening
Depending on your preferences, they offer two types of teeth whitening. The most common method of whitening that produces excellent results is a take-home system in which they make trays that look like mouth guards and place the whitening material beside the tooth for 30 minutes once a day. They recommend whitening your teeth for 7-10 days or until you are satisfied with the shade. By inserting the trays once a month, you can also maintain the color of your teeth. An in-office system that provides immediate whitening and up to 4 shades of improvement is also available.
Request a free evaluation at your next dental visit if you are unhappy with the color of your teeth.
Cosmetic dentistry/ Veneers
Please inform their hygienists or dentists at your next appointment if you are dissatisfied with your teeth’ size, shape, or color. They will provide you with free evaluation and treatment options to correct the problem. These solutions could range from simple tooth re-contouring to porcelain veneers. Whatever option you choose, they will work hard to provide the best aesthetic outcome and make you proud of your teeth.
TMJ Treatment
They can treat approximately 80% of patients with TMJ joint and surrounding muscle pain. They practice very conservative medicine and emphasize educating patients about their condition and treatment options. Their treatment strategy centers on detailed home-care instructions, medications, and bruxism splints. If a patient is in severe pain or does not improve with conventional treatment, they may refer them to a physical therapist.
Crowns and Bridgework
West Shore Family Dentistry’s desire and power are the crown and bridge. They have perfected their techniques through years of practice and provide an extremely efficient service with exceptional final results. Their crowns have a high long-term success rate and give your teeth an excellent long-term prognosis. Your experience will be one of quality, comfort, and excellent results.
Extractions
They have a great deal of experience extracting all types of teeth, including wisdom teeth and complete mouth extractions. To alleviate the stress of the appointment, they provide nitrous oxide and anti-anxiety medication. Because they do not sedate patients, they refer them to local oral surgeons for the most apprehensive or complex cases. Before these procedures, we usually schedule an evaluation to discuss and determine the appropriate treatment.
Dentures and Partials
Their dentures and partials are of the highest quality, and as a result, it usually takes 3-6 appointments to create a well-fitting, attractive, and highly functional denture or partial. It is challenging to develop a suitable denture or partial. They put in the extra effort necessary to get it right the first time. They are also available to make adjustments or repairs to your prosthesis throughout its lifetime.
Pediatric Dentistry
They usually start treating children when they are three years old. They do not sedate or put children to sleep; Instead, they attempt to work with the child and take the extra time required to complete the procedure. Finally, we are patient and understanding. They may, however, recommend a pediatric dentist for those who are extremely afraid or have extensive work. However, we are generally very successful throughout the tour approach and stress prevention from a young age. Their hygienists are excellent at teaching and reviewing brushing, flossing, and diet habits. This consistent attention to their patients promotes a lifetime of good oral hygiene and reduces the risk of dental cavities and problems.
Preventive Dentistry
They have an impressive team of dental hygienists and appreciate their commitment to providing the best care to the patients. Each hygienist has a unique personality, and they encourage you to find the hygienist with whom you are most comfortable.
Their hygienists will go over their hygiene concerns with them and provide brushing/flossing guidance and instructions on how to use other hygiene aids. They will also talk about your diet, overall health, and potential medications to affect your oral health.
Periodontal
Periodontal disease is a long-term disease in which the patient gradually loses bone support around the teeth.
Many factors contribute to the disease process, and they take a cautious approach to treatment. They begin with a periodontal exam in which they probe six different areas of each tooth for pocket depth. These measurements serve as a baseline and a barometer of progress following therapy.
Initial therapy consists of scaling/root planing, which is essentially a comprehensive cleaning in which they remove any calculus, tartar buildup, and inflammatory tissue and provide detailed oral hygiene instructions.
The gingival tissue usually responds well to treatment, and the patient is placed on a three-month recall. If the conditions do not improve, they recommend seeing a periodontist, who will give you more options, including Perio surgery.
Implant Dentistry
Replacement teeth through implants are excellent. An implant is your best option to replace your missing teeth as naturally as possible. They perform the initial consultation and collaborate with local oral surgeons to place the implant in the bone.
Implants typically integrate with the bone after 3-6 months. After the implant has been properly integrated, you will return to their office to have the tooth placed on the implant.
They would begin with impressions and cement the tooth onto the implant two weeks later, completing the process. Implants have an excellent long-term prognosis, and they are available if you have any concerns or issues.
Sleep Apnea
They provide a treatment option for sleep apnea or snoring that involves fabricating a dental appliance. The dental appliance moves the lower jaw forward and keeps it there, preventing snoring and sleep apnea.
They manufacture a variety of appliances and collaborate with your doctors to ensure that everything is functioning correctly. You should schedule a consultation appointment to explore your options if you suffer from these conditions and want a dental appliance to treat them.
Emergency Care
Their office is open five days a week and has emergency care available every day. They also have a dentist on call for those in need. In case of severe injury or life-threatening situation, call 911 for emergency assistance. They can treat a wide range of traumatic dental injuries, including teeth that have been chipped, moved, or completely knocked out. Please contact their office if you require assistance.
